We used to be named Southern New England Road Race Officials, but we changed the name to SNERRO because that’s what everyone called us.  The LLC is legal stuff that is unexplainable.  As the old name suggests we provide officiating services for road races.  As you can probably imagine, we can provide timing, or start/finish line services for other events requiring timing, but we work mostly road, trail and bike races.

SNERRO was started about 47 years ago in support of the Ocean Beach Road Race in New London, CT.  The race is still active, 11.6 miles on the 1st Saturday in August.  The entry fee is still free and SNERRO still times it.  SNERRO has been operated by the present owners since 1986.  We look at SNERRO as a hobby, mainly because we have real jobs and we don’t make any money timing races. 

This website is our attempt to provide our schedule and the results of the events we time via the internet.

We started producing a schedule to keep track of the races we are contracted for and soon found that it was the only schedule of races available for the Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island area.  We expanded the SNERRO Schedule to include other races.  Our only requirement was that we received the race information from the race director, each year, in writing.  Along came progress (the internet) and the SNERRO Schedule became something of a dinosaur, but we still produce it.  It still keeps track of the races we are contracted for and it is still based on paper (or email) from the race directors.  For another schedule of races throughout Connecticut visit our competition at:  http://www.hitekracing.com
